blank sheet

There are those days when all you need is your way to get away,

and I’m not talking about expensive flights, restaurant bills or coloured drinks.

All I’m saying is that we all need a way to escape – doesn’t really matter if it’s a mid-week concert, a glass or wine or a cigarette smoked in the secret of the terrace away from you parents’ roof.

That’s what makes us human, the simple thing of understanding your routine and have your moment of freedom of being yourself or who you want to be, even if only for half an hour, even if for forever.

All I’m trying to say is that I can’t promise that taking your car to the seaside for a day is going to make you feel better about your sum of days, or that following your impulse will give you the drive to wake up the next morning, get showered and all dressed up for your usual self. But what I can promise you is that if you find the time to face a blank piece of paper and write down what is important – little does it matter if we’re talking about not using plastic bags or working from the beach -, you’ll already be closer to what you expect life will bring you.

And if there’s something I know for sure is that keeping your fingers crossed under the desk of an office you don’t want to go to when you wake up isn’t enough.

So get your ass out there and give yourself a shot. And if it doesn’t work out you can still stick to whatever combination of stars, god and random circumstances choose for you.

Now, if you may excuse me, I’ll go get myself another cup of coffee to keep my eyes open while surfing airline companies for yet another chance to shape my life and make it look one step more similar to what I want it to be.

And like a guy I’ve listened live yesterday night said, if you’ can change a musician’s life and bring him all the way to Europe from the other side of the world, you might as well change the way you treat yourself, no?
